PET & HOME SITTING

At Pets & Pads, we offer pet and home sitting services to the Hamilton area and its surrounds.  We strive to personalise the service by tailoring it to each individual client and their pet (so offer a free initial in-home meet-and-greet with each booking).  As an example of the services offered, the following standard service would apply to any dog and/or cat sitting job:  feeding/watering, exercise/playtime, love/cuddles/basic grooming, poop pickup/litter cleaning, medication administration, mail collection, pot plants/veggie garden watering, wheelie bins out/in, light/curtain rotation (for added home security), etc.

                                
A standard visit for a dog and cat for example, dependent upon their specific needs, would generally start with a walk and/or game for the pup, then wind down time - being cuddles, talk, grooming and a little light training time for their mental stimulation. Then they’d be fed and their drinking water refreshed.  After that would come some cuddle, talk and grooming time with the cat (if he or she will tolerate it) and then their feed and water refresh.  Finally, the cat litter would be scooped/cleaned, the day’s dog poop would be collected and disposed of, and any potted plants or vegetable gardens would be watered (on an as need basis).

 
The initial consult is of the utmost importance to me, as the aim of the service is to try to keep pets as happy and comfortable as possible in their human guardian’s absence. While I have nothing against boarding kennels, my belief is that next to being with their human family, pets are happiest in their own home and keeping to their usual routine. This free meet-and-greet gives a client and their pet(s) the chance to meet me (or one of our other carers) and likewise gives me the opportunity to fully understand the client’s/pet’s needs, routine, and habits.

 

In terms of pet sitting, we offer anything from quick drop ins to let pup out for a potty break, to overnight live-in care.  Overnight care is predominantly designed for very young, aged, ailing, special needs or high maintenance pets.  When booked for overnight stays, we provide all of our own food, bedding, towels, and toiletries.

Finally, an example of our standard fees for 1 to 3 dogs or cats are as follows (please note, additional animals may incur additional fees and farm care rates are quoted on a individual basis):

• $30.00 per standard pet sit visit

• $40.00 per hour (if additional time is required)

• $100.00 per night for overnight stays (approximately 6:00pm until 9:00am)

• A travel fee of $0.88 per kilometre (in line with the ATO’s standard mileage allowance rate) is applicable for travel to properties outside a 10km radius of Hamilton).
